Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts

We are delighted to share Betknowmore UK's 2023 Trustees’ Report and Accounts, which showcases another remarkable year of growth and impact in preventing and addressing gambling harms across the UK.

In 2023, we supported nearly 500 people through our tailored services, with 99% saying they would recommend Betknowmore UK to others in need. Our service users reported significant improvements, with 94% understanding their gambling harms better and 88% feeling more optimistic about their future.

A major milestone was our successful integration into the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN), allowing us to expand our reach and support services nationally. Our peer support service, Peer Aid, continued to strengthen through valuable partnerships, while our women's service, New Beginnings, flourished with the launch of its first podcast series - while both continued to serve more clients and increase their impact.

We're particularly proud of achieving the Trusted Standard Level 1 certification, recognising our commitment to operating safely and effectively as a third sector organisation. Additionally, our Peer Supporter training programme received City & Guilds Assurance, demonstrating our dedication to maintaining world-class quality standards.

The report details how we've enhanced our digital capabilities, expanded our team, and strengthened our partnerships to better serve those affected by gambling harm. We invite you to read the full report to learn more about our journey and the impact we're making together.

Andrew Gray, Co-Chair of Trustees, said: “Our support service teams have met the challenges with great dedication and enthusiasm. They have seen increased service demand, navigated new referral pathways within the new system and worked with new partner organisations.

“The three key services that we provide are demonstration that the voice of lived experience, embedded into peer and community support, has an essential part to play in gambling harms prevention and recovery.

"Thank you to all our supporters, partners, and team members who made these achievements possible.”
