Award winning broadcaster Mark Saggers joins Betknowmore UK for a new ten-episode series of podcasts focused on gambling harm and recovery. Mark has a wealth of broadcasting experience spanning 30+ years as a lead presenter for BBC Radio Five Live and talkSPORT. His illustrious broadcasting career coupled with lived experience of gambling and over a decade in recovery is a perfect fit to bring a brand-new podcast to the sector.

‍On the new partnership, Mark Saggers said, “I want to use my own personal, painful experience of gambling addiction to support others through the charity Betknowmore.  This exciting new podcast will feature high profile guests from the sporting world talking to me about their own experiences. My job is to tell their stories, alongside my own, so that we can all learn from people’s experiences to raise awareness and find support for the harm and devastation gambling can bring to ourselves and our family and friends. I want to ensure that every single person who needs support can get it and I’ll be talking to people involved across the whole world of gambling in this new series. Betknowmore has as impressive line-up of people with lived experiences to help addicts with their recovery. And having been in recovery for 12 years myself I know that every single day of it is worth it. I can’t wait to start this exciting new series.”

The Betknowmore podcast will be produced by the team at 11-29 Media (Producers of Eammon Holmes and Nikki Chapman) and will showcase guests from the world of sport, support services and industry discussing a range of subjects from gambling as a sports professional to what impact gambling harm has on women and diverse communities.
